Americans in 2040 should not be fighting outdated forms, confusing websites, unnecessary paperwork, and cold agencies to receive a service their taxes already fund.
High-volume federal forms would undergo public testing, readability reviews, and regular simplification. Agencies would publish understandable customer-service standards covering wait times, application decisions, appeals, and delayed cases.
When automated systems affect benefits, immigration status, eligibility, employment, or another major government service, Americans should have access to meaningful human review.
My administration would expand pathways for engineers, cybersecurity professionals, designers, and data experts to temporarily serve the public. A bipartisan Government Consolidation Commission would identify duplicated programs, outdated offices, and opportunities to make government more efficient without eliminating necessary services.
My policies:
Simplify high-volume federal forms.
Establish federal customer-service guarantees.
Require human review of high-impact automated decisions.
Expand the Public Digital Service Corps.
Expand apprenticeships and portable credentials.
Create a recurring Government Consolidation Commission.
Improve federal websites, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure.
Redirect savings from waste toward public priorities.
