Public participation should become a permanent part of our governing.
My administration would establish the White House Freedom Forum, a secure public-engagement system through which the entire American population could rank priorities on what needs to be done, how to go about doing it, submit ideas, voice their opinions, and rate government officials. There would be a Freedom Forum response guarantee for these forums. Popular submissions would have to receive a formal response and/or recommendation, so it doesn’t become a useless public survey system. On top of this, an annual State of the People Report, separate from the State of the Union address, would identify the public’s greatest concerns, areas of agreement, and major disagreements, and how government is or should be responding.
Regional presidential town halls, Modernized Petition Systems, Military Parades, Representative Citizen Panels, and carefully organized opportunities for ordinary people to visit and participate inside the White House for White House discussions would help close the awfully long, and too long distance between the government and the governed. I will make my efforts to talk to the American people long and often, not to make myself a cult of personality, but to be the best possible representative of my constituents.

My policies:
Establish the permanent White House Freedom Forum.
Guarantee official responses to qualifying public proposals.
Publish an annual State of the People Report.
Convene representative national panels of citizens to study and question issues and experts and be able to advise me.
Hold regional presidential town halls, some of which in the White House.
Modernize the federal petition process.
Publish an independently maintained presidential promise tracker, to track promises by Presidents, including me.
Hold lots of Military Parades, made better by the fact I know every single patriotic song word for word.
