U.S. Infrastructure should connect Americans to jobs, schools, businesses, parks, healthcare, and one another!

My administration would expand federal support for sidewalks, safer streets, public transit, bridges, other transportation connections, and especially roads that make communities easier to navigate. Our infrastructure in some cases feels like it’s that of a third world country, but we need to have the best.

Passenger rail, as in trains, should expand where population, distance, ridership, and cost make it practical. New projects would be held to clear construction milestones and stronger cost-overrun transparency.

My proposed ‘From California to the New York Island’ Initiative would create a long-term national plan for high-speed rail connecting major American cities, with the groundwork necessary for future connections to other states and smaller cities.

Expanding rail and public transit does not mean abandoning cars or the American automobile industry. My belief is that a modern nation should offer Americans more transportation choices, not fewer.

My policies:

• Repair and modernize existing infrastructure.

• Expand safe and practical public transportation.

• Improve sidewalks, cycling routes, and complete streets.

• Strengthen passenger rail accountability.

• Develop a long-term national high-speed rail network.

• Connect major cities while planning for smaller communities.

• Preserve the strength of the American automobile industry.

• All the while protecting national parks, sensitive environments, and as much of our beautiful land as possible.
