No American should avoid essential medical treatment because the price is hidden, our market offers no genuine choice, or one illness could destroy their financial future.

I support the creation of my own Federal Public Insurance Option, maybe ‘FreedomCare’, that can compete with private plans, particularly in areas where Americans lack meaningful competition. That way, either private companies would be forced to lower their rates or Americans will switch to a cheaper healthcare option. Every American deserves the freedom to choose affordable care. Private insurance would continue to exist, but no community should be left with one unaffordable option or no realistic option at all.

Existing protections against surprise medical bills should be strengthened and expanded. Patients should receive understandable and dependable estimates before scheduled care, rather than discovering the true cost only after treatment.

My administration would also promote prescription-drug competition, confront artificial delays to generic and biosimilar medicines, and strengthen primary care, rural health services, community health centers, telehealth, and the healthcare workforce.

My policies:

  • Create a competitive federal public insurance option.

  • Preserve private insurance choices.

  • Close remaining surprise-billing gaps.

  • Require reliable patient price estimates.

  • Strengthen prescription-drug competition.

  • Expand primary care and rural healthcare.

  • Improve healthcare transparency and enforcement.

  • Invest savings from wasteful spending into healthcare access for Americans that need it.
